Privacy policy

This policy covers theunshamed.com, the UnShamed community, the job board, and the UnShamed Compliance Companion at app.theunshamed.com (together, "UnShamed," "we," or "us"). UnShamed is an Ephraim Technology company.

The short version

• We never sell your information.
• Your Companion records are yours. Only you and the people you choose to invite can see them.
• Anonymous fairness reports are never linked to your account.
• You can download or delete your records at any time.

What we collect

When you use the Compliance Companion

• Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored securely; we can't see it).
• Records you add: licenses, board cases, orders, requirements, deadlines, contacts, notes, and documents you upload as proof.
• Subscription details: your plan and payment status. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Basic technical data: things like sign-in times and error logs, used to keep the service working and secure.

When you use the website, community, or job board

• Forms: what you send us through the contact form, community application, firm beta request, or job submission.
• Community: the display name and email you join with, and what you choose to post. You may use a nickname or initials.
• Job postings: the listing details employers submit. An employer's private contact details are not shown publicly.

How we use it

• To run the Companion: organize your requirements, schedule reminders, build your reports, and share records only with people you invite.
• To read the documents you upload, such as board orders and Nursys license reports. Documents you upload are stored privately in your account and sent to Anthropic's Claude API to read them. What it finds is shown to you as a draft; nothing is added to your records until you confirm it. Anthropic processes them on our behalf and is not permitted to use them to train its models.
• To send account emails, such as a welcome message, trial reminders, and notices about your subscription.
• To answer your messages and review community and job board submissions.

Who can see your Companion records

Only you, and anyone you invite through Sharing & access, such as an attorney, monitor, board staff member, assistant, or family member. You choose what each person can see, and you can remove their access at any time. When you remove someone, their access ends immediately.

Our team does not look through your records. We would only access your account if you ask us for help, if it's needed to keep the service secure, or if the law requires it.

Anonymous fairness reports

If you choose to share your case anonymously, that report is stored separately and is never linked to your Companion account. Optional questions about race, gender, age range, and practice history are only ever shown as totals for groups of five or more, so no one can be identified. We only quote your words if you explicitly say yes.

Companies that help us run UnShamed

We use a small number of trusted service providers, only for the purposes above:

• Supabase: secure database and file storage for the Companion and job board
• Stripe: subscription payments and receipts
• Anthropic: AI reading of documents you upload
• Netlify: website hosting and website forms
• HighLevel: the community and account emails

We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.

Health information and HIPAA

UnShamed is not a health care provider or health plan. Some records you add, like drug test results or treatment attendance, may include health information. We protect it with the same care as everything else in your account and only share it with people you choose. Please upload only what you need to show you've met your requirements.

How long we keep it

We keep your records for as long as your account is open, so your full history is there for the life of your order. If your subscription ends, your records stay safe and readable. If you request account deletion in the app or by email, we delete your account and records within 30 days, except for anything we're legally required to keep, such as payment records.

Your choices

• Download your records anytime: your record data from Settings, and your document files from the Documents page.
• Correct or delete your information by editing it in the app or emailing us.
• Stop marketing emails with the unsubscribe link in any email.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, such as the right to know what we hold about you. Email us and we'll help.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and stored with access controls that keep each person's records separate. No system is perfectly secure, so we also ask you to use a strong password and keep it private.

Age

UnShamed is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and let Companion members know by email.
