Separately, NYSNA runs SPAN (Statewide Peer Assistance for Nurses), a confidential peer support program and helpline (800-457-7261): https://www.statewidepeerassistance.org/. PAP requires temporarily surrendering the license during treatment instead of facing misconduct charges. NYSED warns of phishing and phone scams that impersonate its staff.
